CARE FACTOR COOPERATIVE UNDER CONSTRUCTION
KCLC is dedicated to elevating poverty in doing so we focus on the next generation entering the workforce. To achieve this we also need to create meaningful dignified and accessible employment opportunities for those who may otherwise not be able to obtain them in the current economy. Over the past 18 months KCLC has been successful in receiving grants from BCCM the peak body for Cooperatives and Mutuals to establish Logans first worker cooperative in the Disability and Aging sector. Support is being provided through the Bunya fund and more recently the Care Together grant.
LEARNER LICENCE PROGRAM
Discover the path to independence with KCLC's Learner License Program
This collaborative initiative with The Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) is designed to empower members of the Logan community.
Every second month, we offer specialised in-person workshops tailored to assist migrants, youth, and individuals facing challenges such as learning difficulties or English as a Second Language (ESL).
Our goal is to provide a supportive environment where up to 30 participants per session can successfully obtain their learner license on the day, breaking down barriers to transportation and opening doors to employment opportunities.
Join us in this journey towards greater mobility and independence, and take the first step in obtaining your learner license with the help of KCLC and TMR.
SCHOOL TO WORK TRANSITION
Embark on Your Future with KCLC's School to Work Transition Program
KCLC, in collaboration with partner schools, is proud to offer a comprehensive School to Work Transition Program designed to equip the next generation of our workforce with the skills and qualifications they need to thrive.
Our program features a suite of nationally recognised pre-employment training programs, alongside non-accredited pre-employment initiatives, all tailored to provide students with a solid foundation in employability skills.
Dive into an array of opportunities including Certificate II qualifications, pre-employment discovery sessions, and the chance to engage with industry leaders through our extensive network of stakeholder and industry partnerships.
At the heart of our program is a pioneering education strategy that works in close collaboration with employers, crafting bespoke employment pathways. This approach not only aligns with the evolving market needs but also supports each participant to confidently and clearly progress towards their career aspirations.
We invite you to embark on this transformative journey from education to employment with KCLC. Together, we aim to bridge the gap between school and the professional world, equipping students with the necessary knowledge, experience, and confidence to flourish in the ever-changing employment landscape.
AFORDABLE HOUSING
Building Partnerships for Affordable Housing Solutions
KCLC is deeply engaged in fostering relationships and advocating with government bodies at all levels, as well as collaborating with housing associations and bodies, to address the pressing issue of housing affordability. Our approach emphasizes cooperative housing and the nurturing of partnerships essential for the conceptualization and development of housing projects aimed at easing the affordability crisis.
Through constructive dialogue and collaboration across Queensland and New South Wales, we are laying the groundwork for innovative solutions that will support the delivery of social and affordable housing. These efforts are particularly focused on aiding Australians who are most in need, including individuals with disabilities and the elderly, by providing them access to safe, comfortable, and affordable homes.
We invite you to join us in this important journey of building relationships and advocating for change, as we work hand in hand with government and community partners to address and solve the challenges of affordable housing.
